Danijela Drakulić

Danijela Drakulic graduated at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, Serbia in 2000. She completed her master's studies at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade in 2005, and defended her doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade in 2011. Since 2001, she has been employed in the Laboratory for Human Molecular Genetics at the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering, University of Belgrade, wherein 2019. she was elected to the position of Senior Research Associate. She was the recipient of the Goran Ljubijankić Foundation's annual award for the best doctoral dissertation in Molecular Biology, defended in 2011. From 2012. she has been a lecturer on the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade on Doctoral degree program (Methodology in Molecular Biology). She was a mentor in preparation of doctoral theses (2), master's (3) and diploma (1) works. From 2013-2016 she had been a work package leader of the project FP7-REGPOT-2012-2013-1SERBORDISinn “Strengthening the Research Potential of IMGGE through Reinforcement of Biomedical Science of Rare Diseases in Serbia – en route for innovation”. Her main research interest is studying genotype - phenotype correlations in patients with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome, analysis of the effects of modulation of gene expression on pluripotency, proliferation, migration, invasion, neural differentiation and cell death of cancer cells, as well as testing potential antitumor and anti-inflammatory properties of bioactive compounds.
