Mariagrazia Di Luca

Mariagrazia Di Luca, graduated in Biology with a BSc (Hons) from the University Pisa (2006), Italy and obtained her PhD in Microbiology and Genetics from the same University (2010).

2010-2013 Post-doctoral fellow at Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa.

2013-2015 Post-doctoral fellow at CNR- Nanoscience Institute – NEST lab, Pisa. 2014-2015 Post-doctoral fellow at Parma University, Dep. of Physics and Earth Science – Italy.

In July 2015, she was awarded the title of Specialist in Microbiology and Virology from the University Pisa defending a thesis on the role of biofilm in chronic rhinosinusitis and evaluation of antibiotic treatment.

In May and September-October 2015, she visited Dr Trampuz lab at Charité University Hospital, Berlin German awarded a "Short Term mobility" grant funded by Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (Project title: “Evaluation of novel antimicrobial peptides activity for the anti-biofilm prevention and treatment of implant-associated infections”) and “ESCMID observership” grant, respectively.

Since January 2016 to May 2018, she worked as a researcher at PRO-Implant foundation Charité University Hospital Berlin, Germany focusing her research on evaluation of commercially available and newly isolated phages against bacterial biofilms.

In June 2018 she was appointed Junior Researcher member of the Diparment of Biology, Pisa University, Italy and Translational scientific coordinator of PRO-IMPLANT FOUNDATION, Berlin Germany.

She participated to national and international projects founded by The Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research.
